Final Report - EPOSBED (Easy positioning of in-bed patients with reduced mobility)

Project ID: 222064
Funded under: FP7-SME

Abstract

The number of patients with mobility restrictions is growing across Europe, affecting, among others, nurses and caregivers. As the average age of the hospital personnel increases, so does the demand for assistive mobility systems that will allow nurses to work more effectively.

Therefore, the EPOSBED project, which was funded by the European Commission (EC), aimed to develop a specialty bed with automatic positioning which would allow patients with limited mobility to change their position in bed without the need of assistance from hospital personnel.

This final report firstly outlines the project background and then presents the developed product. It also refers to the market aims of EPOSBED and, finally, it closes with a list of the consortium participants.
