Final Report - CAMEL-MCG (Development of highly efficient and environmentally friendly grinding technology through a minimum coolant approach)

Project ID: 261980
Funded under: FP7-SME

Abstract

This is the final report for the CAMEL-MCG project which received funding under the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). CAMEL-MCG sought to develop a solution for reducing the need of flood lubricant in grinding processes by means of the minimum quantity lubrication approach, therefore proving that viable and sustainable technology in comparison to flood cooling in conventional grinding minimum coolant grinding is a viable and sustainable technology in comparison to flood cooling in conventional grinding.

The report covers initially a general overview of the project and goes on further analysing the project context particularly focusing on grinding operations that are performed with the aid of a grinding fluid. It then presents the scientific and technological results in detail and closes with the results' potential impact and the dissemination activities.
