This is the final summary report for the SELF-SCAN project. Funded under the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), SELF-SCAN's main aim was to develop a guided-wave and neural network-based monitoring system for critical aircraft components using permanently installed sensors to allow the testing of critical and inaccessible areas without the need to dismantle during every inspection. The report covers a summary description of the project context and objectives and goes on with a brief summary of the consortium activities and the project outcomes. The report closes referring to the expected final results and their potential impact.
