Abstract

This is the periodic report of the QDS funded under the European Commission (EC)'s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). QDS envisions that the use of highly chemoselective reactions in aqueous solution will have a wide application for the conjugation of biomolecules to nanoparticles (NPs). Within this project a straightforward arylhydrazone and Wittig reactions for the chemoselective covalent modification of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) that are compatible with neutral pH and micro/millimolar concentrations of the peptide targets will be applied.

The report coherently describes the background, the objectives and the results achieved so far by this project. Furthermore, the report presents the dissemination of the results and their potential impact and use.
