Final Report - PHOCAM (Photopolymer based customized additive manufacturing technologies)

Project ID: 260043
Funded under: FP7-NMP

Abstract

This is the final report for the PHOCAM project which was funded under the Seventh Framework Package (FP7). This project aimed at developing integrated lithography-based additive manufacturing systems which will, for the first time, facilitate the processing of photopolymer-based materials for the factory of the future. The focus of the project was to unite industrial know-how in the field of supply chain management, software development, photopolymers and ceramics, high-performance light-sources, system integration and end-users in order to provide a fully integrated process chain at the end of the project. The report shows that the research and development of the PHOCAM project renders parts produced with both engaged technologies competitive to existing devices. It also notes that dissemination and exploitation of PHOCAM activities was focused on industrial translation. A start-up company (Lithoz GmbH) was founded which now commercializes PHOCAM technology in the field of engineering ceramics. The successful PHOCAM activities in the field of innovative light engines and textile machinery components also led to industrially used products.
