Final Report - AMWRUC (modelling of integrated water systems under uncertainty for aquatic environment rehabilitation in rapidly urbanised catchments)

Project ID: 220448
Funded under: FP7-PEOPLE

Abstract

This is the final report of the AMWRUC project, which is funded under the European Commission (EC) Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). The project aimed to develop a framework on how to model a water system in a rapidly urbanising developing country. The system would be subject to rapid changes over a relatively short period and would have to adapt to socio-economic factors, man-made water features and natural water bodies. The AMWRUC project also assessed the impact of land use on water pollution in rapidly urbanising catchment areas, and the effect of water exchange on eutrophication in land bodies of water.

The project successfully developed an innovative approach for modelling an integrated water system in to rapidly urbanising catchment areas. The proposed modelling method will provide an effective decision-making support tool for integrated water management in developing countries.
