Lyon welcomes innovation experts from all over Europe. - Excellent News: The Newsletter of the Paxis Pilot action - Issue No2 - February 2001

Funded under: FP5-INNOVATION-SME

Abstract

The European Commission has developed a pilot action (PAXIS) in order to learn from the regions of excellence and their advanced policies and to support their networking activities. In this way policy decisions could become better documented and solid and regions more innovative and competitive, transferring at the same time this expertise to other regions. The newsletter Excellent News will be one of the main instruments of the Pilot Action to disseminate information about policies, methods and expertise. The creation of new innovative enterprises, the support of spin-off companies and the development of start-ups are some of the main policy orientations in all EU Member States and worldwide. The rich European scientific background needs to be further explored in favour of the European citizens welfare and the new ideas, ready to be implemented. PAXIS aspires to gather all these good ideas and recommendations and through advanced networking and collaboration, make them known and better.

This issue of Excellent News reports on the Second Forum of Innovative Enterprises in Lyon that was held on 20 November 2000 as a follow up to the Vienna Forum on Innovative Enterprises in 1998, which paved the way for the PAXIS programme.
