Abstract

This document proposes a methodology for developing a parametrization of dry deposition, whose fluxes are poorly known and difficult to measure. The heat fluxes in the atmospheric surface layer are known better, however. Both kinds of fluxes should show some similarities in their behaviour since they are controlled by the aerodynamic and surface resistances (related to atmospheric turbulence and to the vetal stomata, respectively). The proposed method thus includes simultaneous measurements of deposition fluxes and heat fluxes. The resistances would be deduced for both processes, and relationships between them would be examined, thus leading to the formulation of the desired parameterization. A parametric study of the aerodynamic resistance is presented.
