Instabilities at high strain rate of AISI 316 damaged by creep, fatigue and irradiation : Discussion of adiabatic temperature oscillations
The damage of AISI 316H caused by creep, low cycle fatigue and irradiation has been evaluated by comparing the flow curves in tension of the damaged materials with those of the as-received material. The flow curves were measured at 550 C and strain rates of up to 1000 /s. An increase in strength and a reduction in ductility with respect to the as-received material were determined. Instabilities govern the low as well as the high strain rate flow curves of the damaged materials.
