Abstract

The homogeneous wave equation is resolved in a cavity of irregular section. The electric field is developed in modes related to the wave guides. The impedance is calculated at the entrance to the cavity in order to fix the initial conditions of the field. The plot of the appropriate values of the impedance gives the resonance spectrum. The resonant field profile is calculated for different situations.
