This report gives a general overview of air pollution monitoring at the EMEP station of the JRC Ispra for the year 1987. Data are presented for hourly and daily mean SO(2), NO(2) and NO(3) concentration in air, daily averages for SO(4), NO(3), NH(4), Cl, Na, K, Ca, Mg, pH, electrical conductivity and acidity in precipitation and daily averages for SO(4), NO(3), NH(4), Cl, TSP in atmospheric particulate and finally weekly averages for heavy metal concentration. Data for the meteorological parameters, wind direction, wind speed, temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, precipitation and solar irradiation have been continuously collected and are also included. All data, forming a part of the EMEP programme, have been transmitted to the EMEP data evaluation laboratory of the Chemical Co-ordinating Centre at the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU). They will be used together with the data from the other participating countries in the EMEP programme to provide the background information necessary for the modelling of pollutant fluxes in Europe in the "Co-operative Programme for Monitoring and Evaluation of the Long Range Transmission of Air Pollutants in Europe".
