Abstract

The Capri Workshop is the 2nd of the second series of the TEAM (Testing Electromagnetic Analysis Methods) workshops for eddy current code comparison, dedicated to the theory and the application of the electromagnetic field computation. The goal of the TEAM workshop is to show the effectiveness of numerical techniques and associated computer codes in solving electromagnetic field problems, and to gain confidence in their predictions. The workshops are intended to be a means for comparison of eddy current computer codes, on well defined benchmark problems, to determine their accuracy, guide their development and establish their validity. Researchers now feel that their codes have reached a level of reliability good enough to be considered mature for extensive applications while industry people are inclined to solve their technical and design problems with the aid of powerful numerical techniques. For this reason, the Capri workshop was followed by a meeting on the industrial applications of the eddy current codes, to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information between industry and the scientific world.
