European concerted action : Indoor air quality & its impact on man COST project 613 Report no. 1 Radon in indoor air
This report gives a summary of the principal results available at the end of 1986 of indoor radon surveys in EC Member States and in some non-Member States, in the framework of COST Project 613. The report discusses current dosimetric models and risk factors. It gives recommendations on the control of radon exposure by remedial or preventative measures. It is suggested that a reference level should be established above which remedial measures aimed at reducing the radon level should be implemented. A design level for future housing is suggested to aid relevant authorities in establishing standards.
