This paper illustrates several aspects of interactions between cognitive ergonomics, artificial intelligence and cognitive psychology in the perspective of the development of cognitive models. An example of such a model is presented, with particular emphasis on analogue reasoning. The decisions which must be taken during the modelling process are illustrated with regard to the needs of activity analysis.
