Multiphase detonation modelling using the CULDESAC code
A mathematical model of melt/water detonations is developed to study the escalation and propagation stages of a vapour explosion. The conservation equations and constitutive relations which form the model are given. Simulations are performed to study the effect of the presence of permanent gas in the coarse mixture. Predictions using an approximate EOS are compared with those using a standard steam tube package.
