Experiences with the HB-8 Facility at the Petten High Flux Reactor (HFR) for thermal and subthermal neutron radiography
The neutron radiography facility HB-8 at the Petten High Flux Reactor (HFR) was originally built for thermal neutron radiography of spent fuel rods from power reactors. To cover the increasing demand for non-nuclear applications from industry and applied research, the facility has recently been modified and upgraded with a subthermal neutron beam. This was accomplished by means of a filtered beam, a Helium filled flight tube and an external exposure station.
