Abstract

The available models of melt/water mixing are reviewed, for the situation where the water is sub-cooled. The importance of sub-cooling is supported by both analysis and experimental data. The related issue of vapour superheating is examined. Conservation equations are presented to describe the situation and the constitutive relations available.
