Contributed papers presented at 12th international conference on plasma physics and controlled nuclear fusion research (Nice, France, 12th-19th October 1988)Funded under: FP1-FUSION 9C
This publication contains papers presented at a conference in October 1988. The first papers review the latest JET results, the extension of H-mode operation and the enhanced performance achieved by ICRH of the peaked density profiles produced by pellet injection. High temperature and ICRF experiments are described. The effect of the new belt limiter on the plasma scrape-off layer parameters is outlined. Other studies concern sawtooth activity and current density profiles, global power balance and local heat transport, sawtooth stabilisation, the critical temperature gradient model of plasma transport and the measurement of correlations between thermal and particle transport. The final paper discusses proposed future devices such as the JIT thermonuclear furnace.
