Intercomparison of mass measurements
This report describes the results of a intercomparison of four masses of 50 kg, 20 kg, 50g and 10 g, by 12 European laboratories. The report contains the means and procedures used, the reported uncertainties and the results obtained for each participating laboratory. For the masses of 50 kg, 20 kg and 50 g, up to seven laboratories agree within 5 x 1.0 E-7, which appears to be the best possible uncertainty obtainable in measurements of masses in this range. The results of the 10g mass measurements, where only 6 laboratories agree within 1 x 1.0 E-6, show more dispersion. The possible instability of the 10 g and 50 g masses makes the results on these ranges somewhat doubtful.
