Photemission spectroscopy reveals that the maximum U 5f-emission is pinned to the Fermi energy E(F), and the T 3d-bands are pushed below E(F) for T = Fe to Ni. For U(6)Mn at least parts of the 3d-band are shifted towards higher binding energies. Both effects reduce the partial 3d-DOS at E(F) and thus the strong U 5f-T 3d-mixing which seems to be correlated with the observed decrease of the superconducting T(e). No tendency to U 5f-localisation with reduced 5f-3d-mixing could be observed by XPS.
