Tokamak confinement in relation to plateau scalingFunded under: FP1-FUSION 9C
It is shown that a plateau like scaling gives a good overall fit to energy confinement data of ohmically heated and L-regime discharges for devices ranging from Pulsator to JET. Systematic deviations become evident in density-scans in single experiments, which at least for neutral-injection heated discharges might be explained by a compensation of confinement trends by penetration effects.
