Late effects of low internal alpha-doses and local induction of osteosarcomas
Three types of low internal alpha-doses were investigated: a) single i.p. injection of 224 Ra b) protracted i.p. injection of the same radionuclide c) paratibial injection of 227 Th- and 228 Th-radio colloids It could be shown that all three types of administration caused systemic osteosarcomas; the paratibial injection of the alpha-emitting radiocolloids caused both local and systemic osteosarcomas.
