Abstract

The Minolta cameras utilised by EURATOM in their surveillance units are now out of production as is also the Super 8mm MFX film used for recording purposes. However, there is a sufficient supply of both camera spare parts and unexposed films for their continued use for approximately a further 5 years. This paper is a forecast of the equipment and staff requirements over the next 5 years for the replacement of existing Minolta surveillance units and the installation of surveillance at new facilities coming on stream. The replacement work and the new projects together will require an annual investment of the order of 750 K ECU to meet the surveillance demands.
