The certification of the total glucosinolate content of rapeseed (colza) CRM 190Funded under: FP2-BCR 4
The preparation of rapeseed reference material CRM 190 and the steps taken to establish the certified value for total glucosinolate content are described. Details are given of the studies made to demonstrate homogeneity and stability. The results of the certification exercise, which involved 13 European laboratories who applied a variety of methods (HPLC, GLC, determination of enzymatically released glucose and sulphate), are presented and discussed. Indicative values for individual glucosinolates, the identities of which were confimed by GC-MS and HPLC-MS, are given together with indicative values for individual amino and fatty acids, total nitrogen protein, oil and water content.
