Monitoring of gaseous pollutants by tunable diode lasers
This volume contains the papers presented at the Second International Symposium on Monitoring of Gaseous Pollutants by Tunable Diode Lasers which was held on October 17-18, 1988, at Freiburg, Federal Republic of Germany. The contributions treat extensively the state-of-the-art in five fields : Atmospheric Trace Gas and Exhaust Gas Analysis; Lead Chalcogenide Diode Laser Development; Components and Techniques; Special Applications; Photoacoustics. In particular, a worldwide survey of lead chalcogenide laser development in the main laboratories working in this field is given and the most recent results on the application of tunable diode lasers in immission and emission analysis are presented. The development of advanced components such as White cells, computer control and prospective techniques such as high frequency modulation are reported. Further subjects include the study of combustion or flames and fundamental investigations of absorption line characteristics. Papers on diode laser applications are complemented by several contributions on competing techniques, namely photoacoustic detection and laser magnetic resonance.
