The report describes the work for certification of endogenous progesterone in two lyophilized human serum materials. The preparations have been shown to be homogeneous and stable on storage. The concentration of progesterone in reconstituted samples is certified to be 10.13 nmol/l (3.19 ng/ml) in reference material No 347 and 40.3 nmol/l (12.67 ng/ml) in reference material No 348, respectively. The methods of analysis used for certification were isotope dilution, gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. The report also presents results obtained by radioimmunoassay.
