Determination of atmospheric turbidity from remotely sensed data : a case studyFunded under: JRC-REMSENS 3C
A model developed for radiative transfer in an atmosphere-sea system is applied to remotely sensed radiances to evaluate its applicability in determination of atmospheric turbidity. Data measured with different atmospheric turbidity over clear sea water, by a multi-spectral scanner installed on an aeroplane, have been used. Aerosol optical thicknesses obtained from remotely sensed data and measurements of atmospheric transmittance are compared and analysed.
