Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

The JRC direct support to various Directorates General of the Commission consists of several types of activity. These include theoretical studies or laboratory work, as a contribution to the Commission's activities in scientific-technical matters, assistance in management projects or contracts, together with technical expertise and elaboration of elements in view of Council Directives or Recommendations. They also contribute to knowledge transfer from research to industry by means of theoretical and experimental development of JRC initiatives (mainly patents) which the Commission and European industries consider worthy of particular attention. The 1988 activities are described in this report.
