Abstract

The exact expression for the current drive efficiency is computed for frequencies above 3w(c), for a relativistic Maxwellian plasma in the absence of electron trapping effects. The result is compared with the asymptotic theory of Fidone et al. This shows that the two computations for frequencies greater than 5w(c) agree within a few percent if epsilon = 1.1 to 1.2 for T(e) = 30 - 50 keV.
