Energy Conservation Indicators II ECI-85
In Energy Conservation Indicators ECI-85 the methodology is developed and applied to energy consumption data for the period between 1979 and 1985 in order to break them down into their component parts. This methodology provides a detailed and consistent basis for measuring and explaining the changes of the energy intensity of the European Community, as well as of each Member State. At the same time, it allows results to be compared among the Member States, since the structure of the database used is identical for each of them. The results are split into two parts : the first part presents the findings for Eur-12 on an aggregate and sectoral level, the second outlines the national results. The changes in energy intensity are attributed to the annual weather fluctuations, business cycle, structural changes in the economy, interfuel substitution, changes in comfort and changing energy efficiency.
