Development of a method for forecasting movements of strata and soil shifting taking into consideration current modern methods of mine-working
The aim of this research project was to develop an improved method of calculating movements of strata and soil shifting. Three methods were considered possible - probability distribution function, profile curve and model theory. With the aid of newly developed software it is now possible, after data acquisition and editing, to carry out reasonableness checks and adjustments. However, it was found that the data of only one of 19 project sites were suitable for scientific investigations with different forecasting methods and for determining further parameters. Subsequent calculations do not satisfy the operational requirements for a subsidence forecasting method, since they contain too many inconsistencies when compared with the measured subsidence. Only the WIELAND method shows a good correspondence with the measurement curves. This solution has so far been limited to very small areas of mining.
