Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

This workshop was intended to be a meeting-place for those active in the sector under EEC and national programmes, in order to assess the state of art of the technology and methodology of harvesting, to give a critical evaluation of the results obtained, to discuss the problems still outstanding, the aims to be achieved and what remains to be done in order to make better and more economic use of Biomass and residues which are not exploited at present. The reports presented, the discussions and contacts during the meeting produced answers to some questions. Collection processes must be further improved in order to make economic use of Biomass itself and see wider application of energy conversion technologies.
