Abstract

The main purpose of a workshop held in Bilthoven in December 1986 was to stimulate the integration of epidemiological, statistical and model building research directed to the description, prediction and simulation of the course of the AIDS epidemic. These proceedings provide only the methodological studies which were presented at the workshop. Papers present an overview of the main quantitative techniques available, five years after the first recognition of AIDS in the USA.
