The work carried out with the help of BCR was aimed at improving the accuracy of angular measurements in the range of up to 10 degrees, especially for those laboratories with no basic instrumentation of their own. For this purpose an auxiliary device for the calibration of autocollimators and angular laser interferometers has been developed and manufactured in which known angular gauge blocks are used as standards. On the other hand, if a calibrated angular measuring system is used, the device also allows the calibration of angular gauge blocks. Tests on the device show that measurement uncertainties of less than 0.2" can be reached.
