Abstract

From seven recent reports on electronic document delivery market indicators were derived for a European market for electronic document delivery. The following can be concluded: There is a market potential of 900 million DOLLARS in 1990 for the electronic delivery of documents on specialised information in Europe. However, considerable efforts need to be spent on establishing an infrastructure for electronic document delivery and on building up confidence in the market. Even then the market would take off only slowly due to the need for wide coverage by electronic documents. An important element of the infrastructure would be an attractive and stable tariff for APOLLO, which is the project designation for a satellite transmission module for document delivery.
