These proceedings of the International Conference on solar architecture comprise eleven sessions, dealing with the performance of passive buildings, the performance of passive test facilities, passive cooling, retrofit or the thermal performance of large glass spaces, modelling and simulation, the analysis and simplified methods of solar and thermal energy, the architectural form, design tools, national and international programmes, components of solar architecture, and education, economic, and social acceptance. Three posters were available on passive buildings, modelling and design tools, and components. English abstracts are given for 48 papers, covering most aspects of solar architecture and heating, including the storage of summer heat in the ground beneath buildings, with staggered release during the cold period by the slow conduction of the ground and radiation from the floor. Three of them include plans drawn for a house with a passive solar heating system, a solar brick, and a solar house in a mediterranean climate respectively.
