RADIATION DAMAGE AND MATERIAL PROBLEMS IN FUSION REACTORS
Conceptual design studies for fusion reactors have shown that in a fusion reactor a great variety of components and materials are exposed to fast neutron irradiation. Therefore, damage by fast neutrons will be an important problem in fusion reactors. The same studies have also shown that other problems such as sputtering, fatigue and erosion due to disruptions may be as important.
