SONNENKONZENTRATIONSSYSTEME FUER PHOTOELEKTRISCHE ENERGIEUMWANDLUNG.
The aim of this project is to construct a cheap, rugged concentrator. Ruggedness is needed to guarantee a good lifetime and a maintenance free performance. Non uniform light intensities on the solar cell causing gradation of the system performance should be avoided. In the first stage of the project the system layout is defined. Several concentrator troughs have been examined theoretically as well as experimentally. Attention has been focused on the feasibility of the production as well as on the usefulness in the European Community and in the developing countries with extreme weather conditions (sand, wind...). Experimental models have been constructed and efficiency acceptance angle, concentration uniformity have been measured. to function under extreme conditions. The work was mainly related to two types of concentrators: - the linear strip concentrator - the pneumatic concentrator with variable concentration factor (depending on the pressure) The idea of the solar dome is discussed. An extra light economical pneumatic concentration dimensioning of a solar dome system and on the materials used is put under a solar dome, a greenhouse such that the concept compares favorably with the solar tower concept.
