Abstract

A solar cooling system essentially consisting of 54 m**2 of evacuated tube collectors, a LiBr/H-2O absorption chiller and a large chilled water storage, has been built, operated and monitored in the solar laboratory of the Joint Research Centre in Ispra (Northern Italy). The paper gives a description of the system and shows the performance of the different types of evacuated tube collectors. The performance of the total system and the absorption chiller are presented briefly.
