HIGH TEMPERATURE MATERIALS AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
Advanced technology requires high quality materials for its successful development. High-temperature materials are of special importance for reasons of required efficiency in energy conversion systems. This report enumerates the various technologies in which high temperature metallic and ceramic materials are used and describes their role as construction material. It indicates the limited knowledge available on engineering materials properties at very high temperature in corrosive/erosive environments and the need for research and development on these materials in advanced industrial applications.
