Abstract

A gas equilibration method has been used to measure the oxygen potential of (U-0.5,Am-0.5)O-(2+-x) (1.87 <= 2+-x <= 2.09) in the temperature range 873 to 1573 K. The resulting DELTA-G(O-2) data are presented as a function of temperature, oxygen content and metal valence. The partial molar enthalpy and entropy of oxygen have been calculated and compared with those of isotypic U - Pu and U - Ce oxides.
