UNDERWATER IRRADIANCE MEASUREMENTS AT 4 WAVELENGTHS (440, 520, 552, 670 NM) IN THE NORTHERN ADRIATIC SEA
Underwater irradiance measurements in the 4 CZCS channels from the Northern Adriatic Sea are presented. The measurements cover different seasonal and geographical conditions typical of the area. At one station (31 May 1983) the gradients in the water column and the related spectral values are shown. Correlation analysis of the different parameters (irradiance, pigments, seston) demonstrates the expected scatter. Nevertheless, even in the turbid waters of the Northern Adriatic Sea, pigment and seston concentrations can be derived from the spectral values.
