ANALYSIS OF GROUND RADIOMETRIC MEASUREMENTS ON THE TAMANI RICE PADDIES (REPUBLIC OF MALI). EFFECT OF CERTAIN YIELD PARAMETERS ON THE SPECTRAL BEHAVIOUR
Ground radiometric measurements have been performed in the context of a project dealing with the use of remote sensing for rice production forecasting in West Africa (Tamani rice paddies, Mali). Combine analysis of radiometric measurements and agronomic observations on representative rice plots has dealt with the following points: differentiation between rice classes and natural aquatic vegetation; discrimination between the two groups erected rice and floating rice, which have quite different potential yields; characterisation of the link existing between density of rice plants and spectral behaviour for a floating rice variety; definition of interpretation keys for satellite imagery from LANDSAT-4 and SPOT.
