Résumé

The Peltier effect of a thermopile, consisting of many elements of doped Bi-2Te-3 is used to generate and absorb heat between two points in the probe. The current needed to produce this effect is related to the heat flux. The probe has been tested in some drillholes with a known flux. The probe may have to be adapted to the state of the well. Certain modifications are needed if the well is cased or if the specific heat conductivity of the terrain is different from the average value. The results of field tests are very encouraging.
