BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF MAGNETIC FIELDS
This summary presents a concise report of 115 page comprehensive review of the published scientific literature coupled with a bibliography of 500 articles. It considers first of all genetic growth effects of magnetic fields, which appear to depend to a large extent on the type of cells involved. Then the effect of magnetic fields on metabolism is studied showing that it depends on the type and age of tissues, the strength of the field and temperature. Other issues under consideration were the effects on endoctrine gland the nervous system and the hematopoietic system and cardiovascular system and finally, on the molecular systems. Amongst the theoretical considerations, it is considered that the energy given by magnetic fields to biological molecules is not sufficient to explain the observed effects.
