A CZCS POSTLAUNCH EXPERIMENT OVER THE GERMAN BIGHT, AND ITS EVALUATION WITH REGARD TO THE "GELBSTOFF" AND SUSPENDED MATTER CONTENTS, AS WELL AS THE FRONTAL DYNAMICS (SUMMARY)
The meaning of the CZCS scene of the German Bight on 14.04.1979, after its atmospheric correction in accordance with the method of one of the authors (St.), permitted detailed insight about the influence of the Elbe water in tidal rhythm and the upwelling upon the frontal dynamics there. Furthermore, a method for the acquirement of algorithms - for the determination of the content of various materials ("Gelbstoff", suspended matter) in seawater - from CZCS data is described. They are based upon simultaneous determinations of scattered light colour coordinates and absorption spectra on seawater samples. This method is applied to the aforementioned CZCS scene. As a result, computer produced charts of the "Gelbstoff" and suspended matter contents are presented.
