Abstract

A zero-dimensional energy balance code is developed for the simulation of approach to ignition and D-T burning in high field ohmic ignition Tokamaks. In an application to the OMITRON Tokamak, the parameters of the latter machine are found to be compatible with the requirements for ohmic ignition of the D-T fuel, at least according to the current understanding of plasma behaviour.
