TEST, RESEARCH AND TRAINING REACTORS. THE EUROPEAN SITUATION
There is no overall European organisation of research reactor managers, and large Nuclear Power conferences in Europe usually do not contain sessions on research reactors. The only topical symposia so far have been organized by the European Atomic Energy Society (EAES), under the title "Future of Neutron Sources", at Petten (May 1972) and Grenoble (November 1977). Other common, non-specific, meeting points are activities in the field sponsored by the IAEA Vienna and the meetings organized by the RERTR Program of ANL, Argonne, Ill. Inside the EEC countries, however, four working groups review common problems related to test reactor utilization, through meetings of experts on - irradiation technology - neutron radiography - hot laboratories and remote handling - reactor radiation metrology. Their activities are briefly reviewed, and ideas on a possible additional group on research reactor operation topics are developed.
