Abstract

Electron cyclotron emission measurements on the TORTUR III Tokamak are reported. Temperature profiles with turbulent heating pulses were determined using the second harmonic of the emission spectrum. Several groups of accelerated electrons have been observed in the first millisecond of the discharge and during turbulent heating. In addition, polarization measurements were performed, yielding the ratio of ordinary and extraordinary mode of emission, as well as the reflection coefficient of TORTUR III at the position of the ECE antenna. A determination of the electron density was made, using the presence of a cut-off layer in the plasma.
