STATIONARY SOLUTION FOR THE LASER PULSE IN A SINGLE PASS FREE ELECTRON LASER
The stationary operation of a single pass FEL is studied analytically in the small gain, small signal approximation and a simple expression for the maximum lethargy delay is derived. The effect of the energy spread and of the emittance is included. An agreement with previous numerical analyses is found in the limit of large coupling parameter mu-c.
